Story of my life!

Today I finally did my gradient nails! I used Zoya in Megan, China Glaze in Spontaneous, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Gray Area. I will put the link to the tutorial I used at the bottom of the post. Obviously, my version didn’t come out as well. I guess it is an okay first try, but it is a bit too stripy. I also got the colors mixed up on my right hand. The sponge I used was pretty big so I got a lot of polish around my cuticles, and I just did this mani so it hasn’t pealed off yet.

Today I have another polish swatch for you, Living in Cin-Namon from Sephora by OPI. I bought this along with S-Age is just a number, last time I went to Sephora. Living in Cin-Namon is a really pretty sparkly reddish-brown that is perfect for fall! This is a nice polish, that took 2 coats. It went about 3 days before chipping at the tips, even with my Seche Vite top coat:-(. I geuss this is just because dark colors show chips easier. This polish is $9.50 at Sephora.com. As usual, my picture are not very good. I really need a better camera…

PS I have a lot in store for you all! Reviews, nail art attempts, and my 100th post:-)
“S-age is just a number” is one of my favorite polishes ever! Even though it looks more interesting in the bottle, it still looks really good on nails. This is a really pretty gold color, with just a hint of bronze. In the bottle it looks like it will have more blue, but the blue really only shows in the perfect light when it is on. This polish has a really nice consistency you could even get away with using just one coat! I used two, mainly just out of habit :-). Sephora by OPI is usually $9.50 at Sephora stores and on the Sephora Website. As usual, my camera couldn’t really capture the real color, so I also took a picture from the Sephora website.

PS I promise I will have some fall colors coming soon!
First off, I just want to apologizes because my nails are soooo discustingly short. I was trying to grown them out, and then two of them broke so I had to cut them all off 😦 😦 :-(. But on to the manicure, I really like this one. The design isn’t very good for fall, but I think it is still pretty cute.
Wet n’ Wild in Everybody Loves Redmond, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Sun Kissed, China Glaze in Celtic Sun, love & beauty (forever 21) in Teal, Milani in Breezy, Sinful Colors in Let’s Talk, and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. I also used a small paint brush for my polka dots.

p.s. I will do a review on Seche Vite when I use it a couple more time
I don’t even want to know when the last time I posted was. It has been far too long:-( I promise to get on a more regular blogging schedule as I go back to school. To make it up to you all, I have a double swatch today! I also promise to have some non polish related posts… lol
My first purple (or violet) swatch is China Glaze Spontaneous. This is a really pretty plain purple without any shimmer or glitter. I first used this polish a couple of weeks back, and it stayed on for about a week with some minor chips. I really like this polish’s formula, it only took two coats to get a great color. I get China Glazes at 2 for $10 (I think) at my local Sally’s beauty.
(Sorry for the pic quality, this is the most accurate colorwise)
My second Swatch for you is Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Deep Purple. The color is actually a lot more purple in person, and not as blue as in this picture. This color is very shimmery, and if you look very closley you can see red and blue shimmer specks. This a beautiful color I would recomend to everyone. I will keep you all updated on how long this lasts!
I also wanted to share a cool new kind of remover bottle that I found at CVS. Most of you have probably already seen this, but this bottle despenses the polish when you push a cotton swab on the top of it. This is very handy, and helps you get just the right amount of polish.

For my green nails I will be using Zoya Zuza. This is a great greenish teal, with a gold shimmer. I really only needed one coat to get a good consistency, but I used two anyway because I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss any spots. I would defiantly recommend this color, it is really pretty and easy to use. I have been really happy with all of my Zoya Polishes (including Megan and remover+ and Elodie).

For my yellow nails I used China Glaze’s Celtic Sun. This is a great color, but it was very hard to apply. It took me 5 coats to get the color that I wanted, because the formula was thin and streaky. In real life the bottle looks much more neon, but the nails look almost the same. I think if I applied this color over a coat of white it color would take less coats and be much brighter.

Sorry I haven’t posted in so long! I will try to be better about it next week.
For my orange nails I will be using Zoya’s Elodie. This is a great orangey coral color. It looks pinkish in some lights, and orange in others. I would totally recomend this! I think this is my favorite color for spring.
This color is a tiny bit darker in person.

Sorry it took me so long to start the challenge! Here is my first mani (red nails):
This looks nothing like the real thing! It is way less orangey in real life.
I used OPI’s Manicurist of Seville. I really like this color. The only problem is it is hard to apply, because if you put on an uneven coat you can really tell. I would recommend this polish to anyone who wants just a basic red.

Here is a more accurate picture:
I am going to start the 31 DAY NAIL CHALLENGE!!! I probably will only do about one a week, because I don’t like to change my polish too often. Feel free to join in (tell me if you do and send me pics!).
RULES:
NOTE: don’t want a new look every day? Go at your own pace! The big goal is to get through all 31 manicures… and notice how your skills grow!
The Challenges:
I got my order of Zoya Nails Polishes and remover + (2 oz)! Here is a picture of all that I got:
Elodie, Zuza, Megan, and Remove +. The polishes came in such a cute box!
A closer look…
Two days ago I painted my nails with Megan (see my post about how to get Megan for free at https://glamlifewithoutstrife.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/free-zoya-polish-in-megan/). I haven’t had a chance to swatch any of the other colors, so more about them will come soon. Here is Megan on my nails:
I love this color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a little bit grayer in person, but it is still so pretty. The Zoya formula was a bit streaky and hard to use, so I had to clean my nails up after painting them. Other than that this color is great and totally worth buying.
Sorry this is so small!
Zoya remove + is the best polish remover ever! I have heard so many good reviews about it, and I just had to try it, so I got the mini 2 oz. bottle. This remover has a mild acetone formula, didn’t smell horrible, and didn’t make my nails dry. It took off my glitter polish very quickly. I would defiantly recommend this to any polish lover!
This was a very successful haul!
