31 Day Nail Challenge-Day 10-Gradient Nails

17 Nov

Today I finally  did my gradient nails!  I used Zoya in Megan, China Glaze in Spontaneous, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Gray Area.  I will put the link to the tutorial I used at the bottom of the post.  Obviously, my version didn’t come out as well.  I guess it is an okay first try, but it is a bit too stripy.  I also got the colors mixed up on my right hand.  The sponge I used was pretty big so I got a lot of polish around my cuticles, and I just did this mani so it hasn’t pealed off yet.

“Salon Express” Nail Stamper

21 Jun

Recently I got the “Salon Express” Nail Stamper.  For this I used Sinful colors dark purple (I don’t know the name), over Megan by Zoya.  Make sure the polish you are using as the design is thick enough, or else the design won’t come out as good.  The kit came with a stamper, a scraper, 5 differant design plates, and a thing to put the the plate you are using on.  Here is a quick tutorial (sorry the pics are so bad, it’s hard to take pics with one hand!):

Megan and unnamed Sinful colors polish

Chose a design (I will use the squares), and clean the scraper, the stamper, and the design you will be using if you have gotten polish on the plate.  Keep a cotton ball with nail polish remover on it close by to do some cleaning.

Cover the design you want with the nail polish of your choice.

Scrape off the top layer of polish, so just the design shows through.

Press the stamper down hard on the design, so that you pick up the whole thing.

Press the stamper down on your nail.  You will probably have to clean the edges.

The finished look!

31 Day Nail Challenge – Day 4 Green Nails

6 Jun

For my green nails I will be using Zoya Zuza.  This is a great greenish teal, with a gold shimmer.  I really only needed one coat to get a good consistency, but I used two anyway because I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss any spots.  I would defiantly recommend this color, it is really pretty and easy to use.  I have been really happy with all of my Zoya Polishes (including Megan and remover+ and Elodie).

31 Day Nail Challenge- Day 2 Orange Nails

24 May

Sorry I haven’t posted in so long!  I will try to be better about it next week.

For my orange nails I will be using Zoya’s Elodie.  This is a great orangey coral color.  It looks pinkish in some lights, and orange in others.  I would totally recomend this!  I think this is my favorite color for spring.

This color is a tiny bit darker in person.

Mini Zoya Haul (“Megan” Polish and remover)

11 May

I got my order of Zoya Nails Polishes and remover + (2 oz)!  Here is a picture of all that I got:

Elodie, Zuza, Megan, and Remove +.  The polishes came in such a cute box!

A closer look…

Two days ago I painted my nails with Megan (see my post about how to get Megan for free at https://glamlifewithoutstrife.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/free-zoya-polish-in-megan/).  I haven’t had a chance to swatch any of the other colors, so more about them will come soon.  Here is Megan on my nails:

I love this color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It is a little bit grayer in person, but it is still so pretty.  The Zoya formula was a bit streaky and hard to use, so I had to clean my nails up after painting them.  Other than that this color is great and totally worth buying.

Sorry this is so small!

Zoya remove + is the best polish remover ever!  I have heard so many good reviews about it, and I just had to try it, so I got the mini 2 oz. bottle.  This remover  has a mild acetone formula, didn’t smell horrible, and didn’t make my nails dry.  It took off my glitter polish very quickly.  I would defiantly recommend this to any polish lover!

This was a very successful haul!
