Cool ponytail holders (or what ever you like to call them) + headbands

17 Jul

I’m back!  Sorry I was away for a while, I will try to post as often as I can now that I am back!

I recently found a great type of hair ties that can double as bracelets.  These ties are gentle on your hair, and are super cute!  Most companies  also make these in a headband size.  I found a sets of these at Anthropologie, and they had printed and glitter ones (see below)!  Many different companies make these, and they are available in a wide array of colors.

from Alex and Isabelle hair ties, $2 for 1

 (I have these!)

(other colors) from Anthropologie, $12 for 5

(other colors) from Anthropologie, $15 for 4

(other colors) from Sephora, $8 for 8

DIY: Wrap bracelet

10 May

A couple of days ago I wrote a post on wrap bracelets, and today I will show you how to make the your self!  This is all you need:

The post I got this idea from (same pics as the video):

A good video I found on YouTube (it uses the same pics as the post):

My notes on the tutorial:

*You can use rhinestone chain instead of the ball chain

*I just tied a knot with the leather instead of using a hex nut.

*Clear nail polish helps keep the starting and finishing in place

*I went across the whole bracelet, then went back up with the string

Wrap Bracelets

2 May

I love wrap bracelets.  I have been seeing them everywhere!  I already have two.  They can be worm as a bracelet, necklace, or even a belt.  Here are a couple examples:

$50 on Amazon

$6.99, Aeropostale

$190, Sundance

Cute Necklace

3 Mar

I am in love with this cute kind of necklace which is basically a strand of pearls, but instead of a clasp it is a ribbon, with a big bow that you leave kinda on your shoulder.  It is kinda hard to explain, but just look at the pic at the bottom of the post.  The one I like the best has yellowish pearls, and the ribbon is grey.   I think I originally saw it at J. Crew.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if you know where I could get a necklace like this.  Hope you like it as much as I do!

My Jewelry

10 Feb

I love Jewelry!  I mean I really love it.  I wear every thing from necklaces to bracelets to earings and more!  What types do you wear?  I don’t really have time to show you my whole collection, but here are some of my most unique  pieces:

Super trendy summer bracelet Jac Vanek $10

My favorite pendant necklace ever! I got it for about a sixth of the original price at Juicy Couture.

Is it a bracelet or a necklace?  It’s both! The pink one was from a local boutique and the second one was from Aeropostale.

Earrings!  Both of these go with everything! I don’t know where I got these.

Not exactly jewelry, but a great accessory!  These Lululemon headbands are the only headbands that do not fall off of my super thick hair! – $12 Lululemon

I hope I gave you a little inspiration!

Getting Your Ears Pierced

9 Feb

Ok, so I know that most of you already have your ears pierced, but hang tight if you do because you will get so cool tips!

1. Getting your ears pierced                                                                                                                                                                                                             So, basically what you do is go to claire’s (or any where else) and buy the starter package.  They take a pair of  earrings with a pointyish and basically click them into your ear.  It doesn’t really hurt as much as you would think it would.  Then you have to leave the earrings in for 6 weeks (and clean and turn them 3 times a day), and you can wear dangly earrings after 6 months.

2. Earring types                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Some people are allergic to some types of metal, so be careful if you decide to buy cheaper metal earrings.  Some people can only wear stainless steal, silver, and gold, some only silver and gold, some only gold, and few people can only wear 24kt gold.  So, be careful what you wear!

Buy extra earring backings incase you lose a couple

3. Storing your earrings                                                                                                                                                                                                                   If you have a big earring collection like I do, and you don’t have a good way to store them you probably lose earrings a lot.  I have one of those earring trees.  That is really the only thing that works for me.

Claire’s $14.50

Hope you like my tips!  Please take a sec and vote in the polls!
